Once again, the dusk of 2022 approaches, and another year of great thrashers, headbangers, and dance hall ditties draws to an end. And, as such, the Grammys have announced their nominations for the best music had to offer in 2022.
Though Gen-Z has retreated from the traditional ideology of award-giving panels, placing all the power of opinion in the hands of a select few, a few notable nominations have cropped up in the rock and alternative categories, including Italian pop-rockers Måneskin and indie rockers Wet Leg, both nominated for Best New Artist. Hardcore punks Turnstile have also received three nominations for their acclaimed fourth studio album GLOW ON. Post-punk Brits IDLES clinched two nominations for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Album. Read on for the complete list (and your own assessments).
