Coração de Pássaro is a concept album that expresses the death of Rafael’s mother, Paula, who passed away in October of 2020 after a battle with a neurological condition. The record manifests the mourning process after a loved one has passed on. Lyrics embody a somber atmosphere, while the music blends Brazilian funk with Popular Brazilian Music (MPB.)
The music experiments with new elements and a unique mindset, contrasting the sounds to be unique yet eerie. The artist creates complexity within this love letter to the mourning process which, while dreadful, can be liberating.
