Bandcamp of the Day: STRIDULUM

STRIDULUM

STRIDULUM is a project based in Southern Poland who has recently released Soothing Tales of Escapism in December of 2021 via Manic Depression Records.

The band embodies waves of cool electronic music, showcasing a minialistlist atmosphere throughout tracks. Lyrics surround listeners’ ears, honing in on expressive vocals and emotive techniques. Themes of the record highlight an array of stories from despair, loss and desire.

STRIDULUM hones in on their ability to make each track transformative from their last. Vocals are layered against their cool-toned music to make for an energy-charged pair. Although their songs carry an aura of sadness, each track is met with bold vocals to contrast their differences.

Reflecting this point is “Bleeding,” where electronics set fire to an overall chilly tone. Vocals kick in carry a sultry aura filling listeners ears with a sound of familiarity, whereas closing track “Ashes” creates depth in their bleak feeling of ice leaving it vocal-less, the same way it entered.
