Diamond Plate Tour Diary #5: Stranded With A Busted Transmission

On the way to our tour with Hatchet and Cellador our RV transmission broke down, leaving us stranded with a few thousand dollars worth of repairs. We’ve unfortunately had to postpone the upcoming dates. Sorry to everyone around the States excited to see the shows, we promise to head back out and make it up to you as soon as possible!

Fuck charity: we’re practically giving merchandise away in exchange for any donations worldwide. ALL proceeds go directly to repairs and getting us back on the road!

USA – $12 for a ‘Generation Why?’ shirt, bottle opener, and a signed copy of the transmission receipt/personal thank you note from us. Free shipping.

Hatchet speaks about the tour as well…

Hatchet band 2014

We’ve been pumped to hit the road again since our last trek out in November. We were stoked that our friends in Diamond Plate were going to be joining us along with a great power metal act in Cellador.

Unfortunately the tour started with vehicle issues for Diamond Plate and not an easy or cheap fix. However Cellador and us have carried on and with as much metal force as you can handle. The crowds have been small but fierce so far. Great local opening acts pave the way for the crushing that is about to be laid upon them at each show.

Cellador rips into their frenzy of melodic dynamic vocals w blistering power metal riffs that is hard not to get anyone pumped. It certainly does the trick for me every night.

As for Hatchet we just do our best and go balls out as if playing to wembly stadium every night. Seems to be received well each night and we love it! In closing as I write this from the dusty highway 50 miles out of Las Vegas I am thinking about changing the name of the tour to Worst Roads in America tour. Seriously it’s like every road, turn off, turn on and any drive we encounter puts us on the most pot-hole filled and fucked up roads imaginable as if trying to break our old faithful tour van. Fix the roads! – Julz (vocalist/guitarist)
