2016’s Fun In The Sun Friday column features people involved in music coming forward and sharing their summer playlists (see past playlists here). This week we invite Night Argent to share their summer playlist with us.
Bassist Evan Taylor of Night Argent comments on his favorite track:
“These are the songs I never skip on shuffle, once summer rolls around. ‘Doin’ Time’ by Sublime has to be one of the most instantly recognizable summer songs out there; once you hear that vibraphone, you know it’s time to chill out and have a drink by the pool. I don’t think any other song quite captures the feeling of a lazy June afternoon. It’s THE summer song.”
Praised for their dynamic songwriting, pop-driven lyrics and multi-layered rock instrumentation, alternative pop/rock band Night Argent have been making waves since the debut of their self-titled EP, released on April 22, 2016. Since its release, the band has been busy filming and editing a cinematic thriller of a music video for the fan-favorite track, “Widowmaker,” taking fans along the way via the band’s Snapchat and releasing a behind-the-scenes reel. Night Argent will be joining Vans Warped Tour for the West Coast dates (8/6 – 8/13). The band recently wrapped up writing and recording in Los Angeles with acclaimed producer John Feldmann (Blink 182, 5 Seconds of Summer) on a forthcoming EP (to be announced).
