Life After Liftoff’s Top 5 Summer Picks
Ohio based Pop-Punk band, Life After Liftoff, are anxiously awaiting the release of their forthcoming single, “Skylights” produced by Tyler Smyth (DangerKids) due out August 20th. With a year passing since their last release (“Brand New Life”), the band feels an updated sound accompanied with a new bass player has produced a track that will leave old fans pleased and new fans intrigued.
Life After Liftoff have partnered with non-profit, HeartSupport, the online community founded by Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red to bring a message of hope and encouragement to fans and followers. For the music video, Life After Liftoff have paired with numerous artists of all genres to share what they are thankful and hopeful for. With the HeartSupport team behind them, the “Skylights” music video will feature Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red, Chris of Motionless in White as well as Andy, Tyler and Jake of Dangerkids and many more to be announced.
Life After Liftoff is prepared to move full speed ahead with this release and are excited for fans to hear the positive changes they’ve made to the band’s sound. Lee, frontman of Life After Liftoff, feels that “Skylights” is exactly what their fans have been waiting for and had this to say about the track, “Skylights is all about real life experiences that I’ve had and what it’s like to create a world with a person you care about that is full of hope, determination and love. The chorus really explains the idea of living in a world full of war and hate but trying to navigate through all of that to create your place of passion and love.” Moving forward Life After Liftoff plans to focus on their punk foundations that they all grew up on while finding creative ways of pushing those boundaries.

Capable indeed. 2012 saw them release their latest EP “Brand New Life“, a call out to fans, bully victims, and the world. The message of the EP is: No matter what life throws at you, this is your chance to start a Brand New Life. 2012 also saw them land opening slots for O.A.R. and Sum 41, play the Vans Warped Tour 2012, and become an ambassador for national nonprofit group founded by Ken Kragen, Defeat The Label (www.DefeatTheLabel.com) to take a stand against bullying and promote a bully-free society without labels and stereotypes.
It wasn’t easy at first emerging with a punk-influenced sound in a town that was more into other forms of alternative rock, but over the past few years leading to the release of their EP Brand New Life (May, 2012), they managed to make a powerful impression. To help build a buzz, Weiss let members of a handful of prominent bands check out some of Life After Liftoff’s strong early demos, and the band now counts among its biggest fans and supporters: Tom Delonge of Blink-182 and Angels & Airwaves, Jordan Pundik and Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory, Paramore lead vocalist Hayley Williams, and Jack Barakat and Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low. They’ve also won the heart of Nick Thompson, front-man of Ohio based fellow pop/punk band Hit the Lights.
What can be expected when a fan attends a Life After Liftoff show? Says Weiss, “I’m just going to say fun and feel like they gained four friends. Our whole thing that we want to do is to make people feel invited to everything that is going on and part of the whole experience. When we’re up on stage they are right there with us. Before we get up there and play and after we are done we try to meet people. I mean that’s half the fun.”
