THe Riptide Movement

The Riptide Movement are spreading awareness about the environmental pollution through music. Their recent EP, Plastic Oceans, is more than a song; it’s a message. Within the bubbly ambience of the track is the band’s message to keep the oceans from being polluted even more than they are now. It’s an important topic and a danger to the natural world, but The Riptide Movement will be using their touring run along the coastal cities to spread the word. Don’t sleep on this Irish rock band, listen to Plastic Oceans below!

With a natural connection to the environment surrounding them, New Noise Magazine sat down with The Riptide Movement to bring forth these tips to prevent any more pollution of plastic in the ocean.

1. Reduce the amount of plastic you use, especially single use plastic

2. Find longer lasting non plastic alternatives – reusable bottle, reusable coffee cup, reusable straws, bamboo toothbrushes to name a few.

3. Ensure waste is recycled where possible to give it a new life.

4. If using wipes throw them in the bin, never flush them down the toilet.

5. When food shopping try to buy items unwrapped, especially fruit and vegetables.

6. Don’t throw fats, oils or greases down the sink, throw them in the bin.

7. Tell a friend about how they can cut down on waste and plastic in their lives.

8. Join a community clean up.

9. Do a #2minutebeachclean or a #2minutestreetclean.
