Matthew Hagarty here from Fritz Montana. It’s currently our fourth day here at The Panda Studios in Fremont, CA. I just finished up the drums for the new EP and they are sounding huge. We spent the whole first day in the studio replacing drum heads, tuning up the drums, and getting the right tones. Our engineer Ryan “Rings” Ellery did an amazing job on getting the drums to sound really full and in your face.
I spent the next three days tracking. One of the best parts of recording the drums was actually the drums themselves. I tracked the new EP using Ryan Torf of The Story So Far’s Dark Horse kit and it sounds incredible. Most of our free time in the studio has been filled with drinking vitamin waters, buying energy drinks, and eating sandwiches as well as the frequent R&B serenades from Sam Pura.
It’s been a long time goal of mine to make a record at The Panda Studios and seeing how well the new EP is shaping up is really getting myself along with the other members really excited to share the new music with everyone. We have been video documenting our time here and are hoping to release a compilation of studio clips very shortly. Once the new EP is recorded, our friend Brian Delumpa from Brian Delumpa Imagery will be releasing a final studio update giving everyone a better insight into what goes on in the studio. Thanks for checking our studio update and a huge thanks to New Noise Magazine for the feature. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready for our new EP out in February. Cheers!

About Fritz Montana:
Fritz Montana is a San Francisco based blues/indie rock trio formed in early 2013.
Their story begins amidst the backdrop of the late 90′s- boy bands were in control, Clinton was romping in the White House, and Leonardo DiCaprio was slipping into the abyss of the Atlantic Ocean.
With a pocketful of ambition and a long road to puberty, three young men took it upon themselves to dedicate their lives to the betterment of American Music. Unbeknownst to these young men, they would later meet, drink some beer, and write songs that would influence the course of history and change the face of rock music forever.
Makin’ waves and takin’ names, Fritz Montana exists to disrupt the status quo, challenge authority, and make some damn fine music. Get to know the guys:
