R&B/Soul artist Casaundra is taking over The Blossom Sessions this week with a new rendition of her song, “Humanity.” The original version of the track was released not too long ago, on April 22.

“I chose to perform ‘Humanity’ because it’s a new release, streaming for the first time around Earth Day. It is a timely release and reminder for listeners to care for one another, especially in this increasingly tense climate. I enjoyed tapping into a scaled-back, ‘re-imagined’ version of the song and adding a contrasting texture with a rap to showcase some grit and tenaciousness.”

Casaundra is a vibe-rant songstress who was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She’s a music educator at her alma mater, Pittsburgh, CAPA. In college she studied Music Media with an emphasis on vocal performance. Her influence is every day life and her music is unique because it is a breath of fresh air in today’s climate that glorifies sex appeal and mediocre music without feeling. Her music is made to speak to the hearts of people in the way that she crafts her songs to uplift and inspire. She is intentional about leaving a good vibe within every song. Currently she is working on her third album, MAMA (music and motherhood authentically) which is a collection of works that beautifully encompasses all that she’s in at this stage of life as a mother, wife and artist.
