The Blossom Sessions: Summer Solow

Summer Solow

Last week The Blossom Sessions featured the alternative/hip-hop artist Summer Solow performing his track “The Art Of Discernment.” It’s not released on any streaming services at this time, but hopefully it drops soon, as it is part of his upcoming project set to release this month.

Summer Solow talking about “The Art of Discernment”:

“Breaking out of the matrix is important to me. I want everyone to find peace by embracing the uncomfortable. This track is a perfect anthem for that. It gives you motivation to reignite your flame. There is no exact time and date for transformation. It only happens once you understand your soul.”

“Something I’d like to add is, this is my favorite track from the project that I’m releasing in July (on the album) I Been Going Through Some Things. It hits differently compared to the other songs because these are emotions I struggle with daily, so in a way, it felt as if I was speaking to myself. Also this was the only track from the project that had live guitar riffs on it. I personally invited a guitarist to deliver some extra passion to this song. I just knew this was one of those breakout tracks.”

Summer Solow is an artist, songwriter, and creative director from Prince George County, Maryland. He was raised by a music-enthusiast mom, and with an upbringing in the church, Summer was taught how to master sound both sonically and visually. Independently crafting his way into the industry, he uses storytelling and pathos to challenge the way listeners think by blending three elements together: wordplay, melodies, and a raw delivery to create colorful, authentic sounds. Paying homage to throwback trends and presenting music with relatable concepts has helped him build a strong connection to his following. On each project, his sense of attention-to-detail and vulnerability resembles your favorite teacher.

He has done work with and has opened for various artists suck as Rico Nasty and IDK. After amassing thousands of streams on a global scale, Summer continues to expand the barriers of music through flare and nostalgia. Some of his inspirations include his environment, upbringing, relationships and his wide range of music selection. He views all music as subjective and can create an emotion based on the listener’s current experience, making his music unique as each person has a different take on it.
