Sundressed have embarked on their “Let’s Try This Again” Tour (see dates below), and we’re proud to partner with the band to host a tour diary as they progress through their travels. Check out the fourth entry below, and stay tuned for more. Be sure to check them out if they’re coming to a city near you, and read all previous tour diary entries here.
Day 20 of 40 of tour
We are on our way to Ft. Worth, TX rn! In all honestly, no one here in the van seems to be the biggest fan of Texas. It’s too big, and some people here are just so damn rude. Some guy was talking smack about us at a truck stop because of the way we look. Mainly the guys who had long hair and tattoos. It’s as if my friends and I were insulting him just with our appearance. I gave him a mean look in defense of his ignorant attitude. I’m so sick of ignorant and intolerant people in this country, it’s ridiculous. Don’t be like that person please [laughs].
Anyway! Tour has been really great since Denver! Secret Stuff and Daisyhead are truly amazing musicians and really nice and funny people. I have had such a great time with them on this tour and I’ll be sad to see them go. Their music is awesome and I highly recommend checking them both out! We just released a split with Secret Stuff that we are really proud of and happy to be a part of if you want to check it out! It’s on Spartan Records.
We had a really great string of shows in California. Its always cool to see your hard work pay off and see shows improve after playing the same city a few times. The highlight was definitely our show at Programme Skate in Fullerton, which was completely packed! There is a wonderful scene curating in the Orange County area which is a relief after the competitive nature of Los Angeles.
We also had a really great show at home in Phoenix, probably the best of the tour so far. We had a great turn out and everyone was singing along. One of the best feelings in the world is when you have a bunch of people singing along with you. It’s so fun and I truly live for it. It was nice for us to have a really nice morale boost and to see friends and family for a night before hitting the road again.
Being on the road is really a unique experience. It’s amazing to see the world that we live in as well as different cities and states and how they differ. At the same time it’s important to be responsible financially and treat your body the best you can. It’s really hard to eat healthy on the road, but it’s important to keep your immune system up so you don’t get sick! It’s hard hard work every day, but we LOVE doing this. It’s our dream and it’s amazing. I’m so grateful to be able to do this. We really appreciate all the support and help we have gotten on the road as well. I definitely miss home and my girl and my bed sometimes, but touring has been my dream since I started playing music when I was 14 and I never thought I’d even be able to. It’s been so fun and I’m so grateful to be apart of this band and this adventure with them.
We are now on a string of shows leading to the east coast and Midwest I’m gonna take a nap cuz I’m exhausted. Sleeping on floors takes its toll sometimes [laughs]. Thank you all again for everything and we hope to see you and make new friends on the rest of our tour!
