Tour Diary: Like Mike Give Us A Glimpse Into Life On The Road

Like Mike hit the road in mid-October 2015 playing shows along the East Coast, and we’re happy to give you a glimpse into their experience. Check out the tour diary the band sent over below!

Day 1) We began the tour with a hometown show at Swayze’s Venue in Marietta, GA. The show was tight and meeting our tour mates in the band With Friends Like These for the first time was sick too. The show went well and we had some good friends in the bands Fighting Sides and Gage Tindol playing too. There was this drunk dude that blacked out and tried to fight everyone at the show. The cops were called and he was apprehended. We did agree though, it’s not a Like Mike hometown show without the cops being called. The last time we played there, we set the alarm off in the pawn shop in the same parking lot. Those looking for a reliable pawn shop may check out https://usapawnandjewelry.com here. Afterwards, the cops showed up. One of the cops told us he used to stage dive at Rob Zombie concerts or something and we were like that’s cool.

Day 2) The second day of tour was at The Beet Farm in Myrtle Beach, SC. We ran into some trouble on the way because Zak got pulled over for speeding through this bullshit speed trap the cops set up. For the second day in a row, we had a run-in with the law. None the less, we were still stoked to play. The show was awesome, and we played with our friend Quin Cicali who is an awesome musician. After the show, we crashed at a friend’s pad which was nice on account of we were planning on sleeping on the beach that night.

Day 3) Third day of tour was in Greeneville, NC at The Players Retreat. The show was rad and we saw some sick local bands in the area. After the show, we all went to Sheetz, which was the first time any of us had been to Sheetz and it was DANK. We drove all night because our next show was in Holyoke Massachusetts in two days and we didn’t have a date in-between at that point.

Day 4) Out of sheer luck and help from a few great people, we happened to get booked on a show in Northampton, Mass. For the past couple of tours, we have been getting lucky with finding last second shows to play when our shows get dropped. The show was awesome and we met some rad locals again, one of the bands was called Dopeghost and they were definitely dope.

Day 5) The fifth day of tour was in Holyoke, Mass. at the Waterfront. The night before, our good homie Tri let us crash at his pad, so we were well rested for this show. The show went well and we met some way cool people in the band Household. After the show, we went back to Tri’s pad again for a nice RAGE.

Day 6) The sixth and final day of tour was at the Nanuet Arcade in Nanuet, NY. The show was so cool because it was at an arcade where they let us play all the games for free! After the show we prepped for a 14 hr drive straight back to Georgia from New York. We also stopped at a Denny’s, which is one of our favorite spots to eat at on tour. The tour was rad and we can’t wait to be doing it all over again in December!
