Entry by Get Dead bassist/vocalist Tim “Timmy” Mehew
I’m going to keep this short since I’m typing on the world’s tiniest keyboard on the edge of our roadie’s cat hair/pee-laden bed some where in Nowhere, Belgium. But this is tour and so it goes.
It’s been a week and after a few days off after arriving we’re now four shows in to this beast and the cogs are becoming a finely tuned, well-oiled machine. That is to say we’ve acclimated to the hurry-up-and-wait, the set has been mostly ironed out, and the van has acquired that tantalizing musty aroma-kinda sweet, mostly sour. But nothing major to note. No international incidents (as of yet). No embassy visits, no private discussions with the captain of the plane, and no lost luggage like in tours past. Everything has gone surprisingly smooth. Eerily smooth. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. After all, the tour is young and there are still mountains to climb, and borders to cross-geographical, personal, and otherwise. We’ll keep you posted.
