Russia’s SVETLANAS have hit the Vans Warped Tour for a string of dates (see all their tour dates here), and we’ve partnered with the band to offer you an inside look into their time on the music festival’s 2015 circuit.
Check out the first installment of the band’s tour journal below!
SVETLANAS Tour Journal #1
July 29 – Noblesville, IN – Klipsch Music Center
Here we go! This is our first day at Warped. After a quick check-in / introduction with the staff we are ready to kill! Our stage is Kevin Says, the Klipsch Music Center is really huge, this is the hottest day so far and the load-in is really tough under the Indiana sun, but hey! Some young punks are already buying our shit at the merch tent and it’s gonna be a fun day for sure.
Our performance is scheduled for 4:00pm, in the mean time we have some interviews to do.
We are very excited to start but at the same time we are really pissed off with our driver ‘cause he’s a real pain in the ass.

July 30 – Bonner Springs, KS – Cricket Wireless Amphitheater
Fuck fuck fuck!!! Diste and Steve had to drive all night long ‘cause the “driver” doesn’t want to drive pretending to be sick. We’re very tired today and our mood is not as its best of course.
Warped breakfast helps a lot and we start to make new friends from other bands.
Other interviews and a photo shoot are on our schedule for today. During this tour we set Putin’s picture on fire at the very beginning of our set, but we found out that the Warped Tour policy doesn’t allow the use of fire on stage, so together we decide to rip the picture and spit on the dictator’s face.
After scaring the audience with our performance we decide to fire the driver and leave him here in Kansas.

July 31 – DAY OFF
We only have one thing to do today… drive! The next stop will be Salt Lake City, UT and it’s 15 hours drive from here. Sooooo boring!
Aug 1 – Utah State Fairpark
Showers please! We need to take a fucking shower! It’s true, we stink badly but hey… we are punks right!?
Regardless, we finally understand how to optimize our time.
Find a spot for our merch tent (as close as possible to our stage)
– breakfast
– find out what time we play
– sign at the press office for new interviews
– kick ass!
Our set is at 3:25pm. Everything looks great, but the stage floor is so hot that you can fry eggs so it’s the first time in the history of the band that Olga doesn’t sing barefoot. Steve and Ginger shoes’ soles nearly melt. We had a very good energy on stage so at the end I can proudly say that we are dirty, rotten and happy.
