Western Addiction is currently on tour in Europe with Lagwagon and The Flatliners, and the band (Western Addiction, that is) are keeping us informed on what’s going down. Check out the third entry below, and check out their tour dates here.
MANCHESTER
“We tried to determine if the Smiths, Oasis or the Stone Roses were the biggest band from here.”
Best cover band name. We also saw a flier for the Red Hot Chili Pipers.
The Manchester Museum next door to the venue. This mummy is 25 BC!!
Check out this guy’s vintage Enemy You shirt.
We barely made it to the show because of a bad highway accident so there are few photos from Portsmouth. We had fish and chips and kicked it in a pub with dart dames.
Our TM, Julia knows the BEST coffee places. This was in Sweet Cup and we tried a Scandinavian coffee.

Every street is a postcard. It’s the most beautiful/seedy city I’ve seen.
Rock shots are usually pretty boring but we couldn’t resist the spotlight.

Group shot under the National Monument. We took a walk after the show and saw “everything” there was to see. I may need to burn my clothes.
Crucial late night hang. These are some of the best times. We discuss music, watch music movies and just laugh.
Not many photos from Dortmund because we were advised to hang near the venue. There was a protest nearby that had the potential to turn ugly so we had to make our own fun indoors. Here is Kenny singing “Eulogy” with Chris. It was the night of our friend David Jones’ memorial so we dedicated our set and tried to honor his life.
Tony fresh from the showers. Chris sharing horns of approval.
Our pal Joe from Smoke or Fire showed up.

It was Flip’s birthday. Here is Oise, Lagwagon’s tour manager, delivering the cake. He’s awesome but he did shame Tony for having never seen Star Wars. He told Tony that he poisoned him and the antidote is hidden within the movie.
It’s was raining so it was tough to get around. There is graffiti everywhere. This was near a skate park under a bridge.
Lagwagon had the night off so we played a smaller venue with the Flats. Here is a shot of them sound-checking an RFTC cover, “I’m Not Invisible.” Tough song to play, great riff. They pulled it off without a hitch.

T lookin’ tough. Post show.
BERLIN
Another incredible city. This art was on the side of a building. So many questions but it was interesting that something like this could be in public and it was no big deal, which is cool. I like that little guy below.

In front of a piece of the wall. It’s radical to think it came down as recent as ’89. We also saw Checkpoint Charlie.
Bad Chad in front of Brandenburg Gate.
In front of Altes Museum and the Berlin Cathedral.
Chad has a “no smiling in photos” policy but you couldn’t wipe the smile off with a jackhammer when he saw the Ramones museum. He finally found Mecca. It was a cool moment.
Playing a show almost every month. True road dogs.
Pretty decent show, sweet lord!
We got to sign the wall! I know it sounds corny but looking up at that wall and seeing several of our friend’s and hero’s signatures was very, very special. Love or hate punk and all of its politics and silly rules, there is a special connection and love of fast music that we all share and this museum is a celebration and reminder. I highly recommend it.
Rocker’s row getting ready for the show.
Little Joe and Dave were pretty sick so Paul and Baby B had to fill in at soundcheck.
Post-show cleanup. Dancing in broken glass is fine here.
This is Joey cutting off a lock of his hair for a fan after the show. So crazy! When they start cloning people and another short, blue-haired, chiseled jaw man shows up and sings “Mr. Coffee” then you’ll know how it happened.
After the show we went out and Joey crowd-surfed across the bar to give me a hug. He’s an awesome person and I’m thankful to know him.
LEIPZIG
Buddha is Lagwagon’s guitar tech. He’s cool and calm at all times. This is his birthday party.
Rory is the Flats’ merch extraordinaire and international Canadian air guitar champion. Epic technique and presentation.
Backstage. We were in good company.
Great show for everyone!
Next up, the snowy highway and Ljubljana.
