Western Addiction have wrapped their tour in Europe with Lagwagon and The Flatliners, and the band (Western Addiction, that is) have kept us informed all the way through. Check out the final entry below.

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA
We had a long, snowy, mountainous drive from Leipzig. People were nervous from the storm reports. Once we got to Austria it started looking like the Sound of Music and people calmed down a bit.
Another stunning city.
Poor Scott did a stage dive and turned his pinky into the shape of a “z.” He had to go to the hospital and we couldn’t leave until 4am. Luckily they only had one more show. He was unable to palm mute so it made for an interesting, cool new sound on some songs.
We’re not supposed to share rock shots but the Flats’ merch guy, Rory, is also an incredible photographer. Check out his photos at rorysylvester.ca. Anyone can take a photo of someone doing a raging solo but it’s harder to capture a “moment.” Here is a moment.
Tony signed the venue’s tour book.
MILAN, ITALY
Another epic cathedral at Duomo Piazza. This one had a glass coffin in the crypt.
Sometimes dudes need tiramisu gelato.
The show was absolutely jammed with people. There were even t-shirt bootleggers outside that the cops came to bust.
This was our last show with the Flatliners. We’ve done shows with them before but we couldn’t have asked for better tour-mates. Their road manager, Georg, is a total pro. He didn’t have to help us but he did every single day. We’re forever thankful.
LIVORNO, ITALY
Livorno felt smaller but nonetheless beautiful. Here is us and Leon at Terraza Mascagni.
The show was at a theater that used to be for patients of a nearby tuberculosis asylum. They came to Livorno for the clean air but couldn’t leave the premises so they went to this theater for entertainment. This was one of the best meals. We ate like a family.
Merch crew getting wild. Luckily, we got to keep a few Flatliners with us even though they weren’t on the show.
PINARELLA, ITALY
Ken rented a car to see the local sights.

T getting wild backstage.
This show was absolutely crazy for several reasons. There was a packed punk show, a separate dance party and then a punk dance party after the show, and… it was pouring rain so no one left. The floors were slippery tile and people were losing their minds. It had the perfect element of danger you want in a show where it goes just over the line but not too far to where someone gets hurt. We had to load out through the people and it was utter chaos. It was just like that movie Almost Famous where Sweetwater had to leave the venue ASAP and drove their bus through a metal fence.
Oddly enough, we had the bus to ourselves for two nights which was completely surreal. As cliche’ as it might sound, we absolutely had to watch Spinal Tap. Cruising through Italy in the middle of the night with your best pals, watching this epic movie and just laughing is something I’ll never forget. Call us lame, whatever, it was a special moment.
Here’s ol’ Chadzig turning it up to 11, “Rock and roll!!!”
We had to drive through Switzerland to get to Lindau. The scenery is pristine. It was snowing.

The older part of Lindau. The people from Club Vaudeville were absolutely incredible and gracious and had a tour guide take us around.
I know, we are pathetic but this had to be done. Shameless.

Great last show. During our set, the people actually snapped my mic cord in half by pulling on it. Never had that happen before. Here’s a shot of Joey in the crowd.
We all hugged and said goodbye after the show. It was the tour of a lifetime. Each member of Lagwagon is an incredible inspiration and friend and we can’t thank them enough.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (USA)
We look terrible but…
Home!! Thanks to Lagwagon and their crew (Oise, Buddha, Craig, Ales, Baby B, Tori, Melinda), the Flatliners and their crew (Georg, Rory, Ben), our drivers Klaus and Tommy, our TM Julia, Fat (Erin, Vanessa, etc.) and all the booking agents, local promoters and venues. We’re so thankful to be in the presence of these people and a special thanks to Joey for organizing this whole adventure. He is responsible for this once in a lifetime experience but besides that, he’s a caring, loving, thoughtful person and one of my favorite humans.
