Twelve Foot Ninja vocalist Kin has provided us with his Top 10 Albums (see below), from Tom Waits to Meshuggah to Frank Sinatra. Be sure to check out Twelve Foot Ninja’s album Silent Machine, available now on iTunes and CD. Hailing from Australia, the band have embarked on their first-ever North American tour with Periphery, Born Of Osiris and Dead Letter Circus. See all dates below.
Kin’s Top 10 Albums
1. Brand X – Unorthodox Behaviour
Phil Collins on drums, Percy Jones on bass, perfection.
2. Ernest Ranglin – Below The Bassline
I love Dr. Ranglin. Enough said.
3. Meshuggah – Nothing
Killer album.
4. Charlie Hunter Trio – Bing, Bing, Bing
I heard Charlie’s rendition of Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are’ on the radio, and was instantly hooked.
5. Frank Sinatra & Count Basie – It Might As Well Be Swing
I found this album while hunting through my grandparents record collection. Frank is a master. And Basie’s arrangements are sublime.
6. Mats/Morgan – Live
Morgan Agren was the drummer on Fredrik Thordendal’s Special Defects. I can’t remember how I stumbled onto Mats/Morgan, but I am ever grateful that I did. They are incredible musicians.
7. Cult Of Luna – Salvation
This is the perfect winter album for me. Lush, heavy, and warm!
8. Peter Gabriel – Shaking The Tree
I grew up with Peter Gabriel’s music. I am a huge fan!
9. Secret Chiefs 3 – Book M
I could pretty much list every album that Secret Chiefs have delivered. But Book M would be at the top of that pile.
10. Tom Waits – Beautiful Maladies: The Island Years
Tom Waits. Genius. Need I say more?
