‘Repeater’ is a comment on modern masculinity. While writing this record, three of us either just had or were preparing to have sons. It was incredibly important to me to embody some of what I thought about masculinity today and question where that comes from. Repeating, to me, is running the same pattern as everyone else, but also means running the same pattern over and over without questioning. And there lies the terror in Repeater. A ‘don’t look in the backseat’ kind of thriller, where the villain can’t be swayed by rational thought. It will continue its mindless paradigm till the end.
On tour I walk past a lot of gyms and always look through the windows at the machines that work your core, chest, arms legs, back you name it. The funny thing is I never see a machine that works the most important muscle, the brain. And in the end it’s the muscles we can’t see that are always our strongest; our brains and our hearts.

Cool Life are no stranger to the world of rock ‘n’ roll. The group made up of Alex Nauth (Foxy Shazam, The Skulx) , Cole Walsh-Davis and Sam Duff (Cadaver Dogs), Chris Harrison and Kamal Hiresh (Honeyspiders) have just unleashed their epic debut single and video for “Waves” featuring Eric Nally (Foxy Shazam/Macklemore collaborator) late last month. This is one of the first glimpses we have of the band, who are set to release their highly-anticipated record later this year. Cool Life’s heavy sound is filled with vibrant horns, and harmonious instrumentation that brings the essence of their sound to life.
