Chiodos‘ charismatic frontman, Craig Owens, has been in the spotlight nearly his entire career. Every musician needs a bit of a break, and Owens did so by embarking on an intimate solo tour where he spent time performing for small groups of his fans in their homes. During that time of self-reflection, he spent a week in Las Vegas, Nevada, listening to Frank Sinatra and hanging out with friends. In that time he recorded the Las Vegas Sessions which includes two emotional singles that spoke to him at the time of the recording. You can read what he had to say about his musical journey below.
In 2015 I went on a personal journey of sorts. Getting as lost as I possibly could in hopes of finding myself. I toured the United States in a rental car, playing your living rooms & driving hours upon hours in unfamiliar places – re-examining pieces of myself I had forgotten about. Desperately searching for a way to fall back in love with the love of my life, music. Years of obsession had left me lacking passion, and the voices in my head had silenced all confidence… but I found myself still breathing.
Along the ride, I connected with faces of the past – and together, we created from our hearts, no intentions, no fear, and no overthinking allowed. We chased our visions with reckless abandon, and didn’t allow worries to steer us in its lackluster directions.
These songs are from my Las Vegas sessions. A week slow dancing with myself in the blistering Nevada heat to Frank Sinatra’s “A Man Alone” & laughing with my good friend Kane Churko. I have found that “adult” is the best way to describe the sound of the songs.
I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed creating them.

The songs are titled “Haunted” and “I Like The Color Blue.” They are available to stream and purchase below via Owens’ Cheer Up Kid! Bandcamp.
