The band commented on the song:
‘Choke’ and its premise centers around domestic abuse but this song is from the view of the victim talking to the abuser. It’s genderless as domestic abuse has no gender either. It sadly happens to everyone and it should be discussed openly so after-effects hopefully won’t be so difficult to deal with or cause any further harm. You are not alone.
