LA-based band, Divided Heaven, is releasing a digital single, “The White Rose” on January 20th 2017, Inauguration Day, with all proceeds going to the Syrian humanitarian aid group, The White Helmets.
Divided Heaven singer/songwriter Jeff Berman says “The White Rose” was written as a tribute to the eponymous 1942 anti-Nazi, student-led resistance group in steadfast remembrance of their courage and in solidarity against their illegal and unjust persecution. The single stands “as an honest, imperfect, unabashed, vicious and raw response to the Trump demagoguery” and seeks to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Syria, where civilians must bear the very real impact of unjust leaders’ decisions.
All proceeds will go to The White Helmets; the Syrian rescue workers who risk their lives to save their fellow innocent citizens (often children) from the rubble and devastation brought about by constant airstrikes. Donations help supply these volunteers with supplies, ambulances, and emergency response training.
“The White Rose” can be purchased through Bandcamp, as well as streamed below.
The digital single also includes a new full-band version of the Divided Heaven song “Gin,” which was previously released on the 2014 album Youngblood via Say-10 Records. “The White Rose” was produced by Ben Rauscher and mixed by Jamie Woolford (The Stereo, Let Go). A new Divided Heaven full-length is due out in Spring 2017.
