Eliza Grace

We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Eliza Grace’s music video for their song “Slightly South And Very West” (watch it below). The track is taken from her upcoming album Wormwood, which is scheduled to be released on September 30, 2018. You can pre-order the album here.

“Slightly South and Very West” was filmed over the course of two weeks during Eliza’s road trip from Los Angeles to her new home in Austin, Texas. During the journey, she did meet-and-greets and acoustic sessions with fans throughout Denver, Salt Lake City, Scottsdale, El Paso, and Austin. As an effort to thank and connect with loyal supporters, as well as expand upon her ever-growing musical family, Eliza sought out to include as many people as possible in the creation of this video and experience.

About the artist:

Wormwood. It is known as an elixir that causes dreaming while awake. It is known as a fallen star and omen in the book of Revelations. And now, it will be known as the culmination of a life’s experiences and extraordinary adventures. The life of Eliza Grace.

A reflection on love, dreams, exploration, addiction, and identity, Wormwood is Eliza’s response to the world, and our human trials and triumphs. Every song is heartfelt, moving, and dynamic.

This magical musical journey started eight years ago, when Eliza began posting cover videos online as an homage to the great musicians in the post-hardcore scene she was immersed in. Finding massive inspiration in music during a childhood of homeschooling, she dedicated most of her time to the evolution of her musical and artistic expression. At the young age of 15, she released a single and an EP that made the top 40 charts in Ireland.

In 2015, Eliza’s cover of “Drown” by Bring Me the Horizon went viral, and her other covers soon garnered the same response. After her artistic presence snowballed over the next few years, she was pursued by KMGMT Artist Management, and she saved up to move to Los Angeles to realize her dream. After the cross-country trip to Southern California, Eliza lived in her car for 4 months and underwent a huge internal transformation throughout the process of decorating the car’s interior and finding ways to make the space nurturing to her creativity. Her experiences on the road and in her self-made home, as well as her newfound love of the traveling lifestyle, gave her a fresh perspective on the meaning of comfort and happiness. This appreciation for one’s surroundings is echoed throughout the record. After putting down roots in Los Angeles, Eliza dove further into producing, composing, writing, and performing. During the recent evolution and perfection of her life’s work, she teamed up with producer Cameron Pierce Mizell (Sleeping With Sirens, Slaves, Memphis May Fire), who has played an integral role in the post-hardcore genre over the last decade. This collaboration birthed from a common immersion in a heavier scene has given rise to a beautiful, dreamlike, and richly-textured pop record, full of Eliza’s musings and realizations about life and joy.

Eliza’s free spirit and open heart shine throughout the record and show an inherent maturity. Apparent in each track is her strong belief that the journey is “all about evolving and becoming wiser…and more vulnerable.” With an authenticity and passion unrivaled in today’s modern pop artists, Eliza’s seminal work, Wormwood, is set to propel her to the musical forefront.
