ENTRANCE (Guy Blakeslee) has revealed an animated video for “Promises.” Still reeling from a summer tour with Beach Houseand in preparation for the release of his latest EP, also entitled Promises, which is out this Friday via Thrill Jockey Records. Inspired by Stephen Hawking, both the song and video focus on the Hawking’s time travel theory – the universal experience we have coping with time’s destructive and constructive powers and mythology.
The song is a moody, introspective tell tale of finding peace when everything seems to be falling apart. The music video slides along perfectly into this idea with inviting animation. The music video for “Promises” was directed by Rozalina Burkova. Burkova had this to say about working with ENTRANCE, “Two years ago I used some of ENTRANCE’s lyrics for my own project so I am super happy now that the circle has closed and he gets to use my drawing for his music.
