Wes Hoffman and friends are sharing their new EP, Rewrite The Story, premiering exclusively at New Noise.
Hoffman has been an active member of the St. Louis and Midwest punk scenes since the early 2000s and took a hiatus from music for several years in the 2010s. By 2017, he had a few musical collaborations with drummer Justin Unterseh, and Hoffman decided he couldn’t bottle up his craft any longer and began releasing new songs.
The full band consists of Wes Hoffman, Justin Unterseh on drums, Jacob Boyd on bass, and Johnny Wehner on guitar. The group release a series of singles in 2021, and now their Rewrite The Story EP is here, displaying their passion for punk beats, loud guitars, and honest, emotional lyrics.
Hoffman opens up about the new EP and talks directly to listeners hearing it for the first time:
“Rewrite The Story is a five-song EP that encapsulates the feelings of feeling stuck, hitting bottom, and then having the courage and hope to start over. The overall theme is that we have the opportunity to rewrite our own stories. Written during a pandemic and major transition in my life, the writing and recording process was a rollercoaster of emotions, which shines through in the music. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.”
