Bordeaux-based trio W!ZARD fiercely blend noise, post-punk, and post-hardcore to produce a bold, violent, and depressive sound.
Recorded and mixed at Apiary Studio (Laval, France) by Amaury Sauvé (Birds In Row, Bison Bisou), and mastered at Deviant Lab by Thibault Chaumont, W!ZARD’s new EP, Definitely Unfinished, is out June 4 through Luik Music.
New Noise are proud to premiere Definitely Unfinished below:
Influenced by artists like Daughters, IDLES, and At The Drive-In, they found their own musical signature by associating hot-tempered vocals, pounding drums and a howling guitar.
W!ZARD self-released two EPs in 2016 and 2017 before issuing their eponymous debut album in March 2018. Definitely Unfinished, the group’s latest effort, is a perfect sonic balance between post-hardcore troupe Daughters and the stomp no wave of Canadian band Metz.
On the EP’s release, the band states:
“With Definitely Unfinished, we could develop the ideas we wanted for the lyrics or for the sound of the instruments, with a raw freedom in the writing process, keeping the music clear and understandable despite its darkness.”
