We’re pleased to bring you the exclusive stream of Petal Head‘s new album, Raspberry Cough. The album was recorded in spring of 2015 by Phil Douglas and will be released on cassette tape via Dead Broke Rekerds. Album art by artist Braulio Amado.

The band comments on the album:

“‘Raspberry Cough’ is a jump into the band’s psychotic minds and a look into what we think we’re doing with our lives at the moment. The album draws influence from stress, love lost/gained, decaying mental health, heavy drug use and whatever sci-fi weirdness added into the mix. It is certainly a trip of some sort.”

Petal Head is a Long Island based alt rock band with heavy use of shoegaze and stoner metal elements. The trio was formed in 2014 when guitarist and singer Michael Guidice started jamming on songs with drummer Brendan Cox. Shortly after bassist Andy Laurino was added to the mix to finally complete the sonic mess that is Petal Head. The band strips every dynamic and traditional sense out of conventional Alt Rock and build it up in their own loud and abrasive yet both parts dreamy and droning. Petal Head’s debut album Raspberry Cough takes you on a sonic journey through thick walls of sound into dreamscapes and then back into a dynamic onslaught of riffs without ever compromising the ride.
