We’re excited to bring you the exclusive stream of Loud Boyz‘s new song “I Am The Night.” The track is taken from the band’s debut full-length, Tough Love, Hard Feelings, out July 10th via Cricket Cemetery Records.
Vocalist Kenny Brown comments on the track:
“We’ve defined “I Am The Night” as it’s own genre: Action Rock. It’s the type of music that you can imagine as the soundtrack to a gritty 80s beatdown movie, a la Streets of Rage. It’s the audio essence of the black leather glove.”
Loud Boyz are a really unique band, keeping one foot in punk/hardcore and one foot in garage rock without ever sounding disjointed. They go from raging hardcore-tinged punk to almost swaggering garage without either vibe sounding out of place, and sometimes even on the same song! At times they conjure the hookiness of a band like Mean Jeans, Post Teens, or even Sick Thoughts, but filtered through something a little more pissed off and Keith Morris inspired.
The band has only been around for about a year, but it’s members are veterans of the DC punk scene. Loud Boyz features Kenny Brown, Roy Sheridan, and Devin Cassidy of throwback thrash band, Warchild, and is rounded out by Mitchell West of New Rock Church of Fire, and Alex Anderson. Despite their short existence, Loud Boyz have already shared the stage with bands like United Nations, Coliseum, and even Buzzcocks.
