Denver’s Faim is composed of transplants from many dominant hardcore scenes from the East and West Coast. Integrating into a small, diverse, and talented scene was inspiring and refreshing for each of the members, pushing them to start this band. Faim strives to bring concepts of social justice and politics back to the forefront of the hardcore scene – challenging themselves and others around them.
“It Follows” was inspired by the callout of a prominent member of the Seattle hardcore scene for his abusive behavior (let’s not be vague – it was Jim Hesketh). While not new, it is important to continue the conversation about this toxic behavior and “It Follows” speaks in a general way about those that prey on people, are called out, and try to re-establish themselves later.
“It Follows” was recorded by Joey Hidalgo and mixed/mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air.
Faim will be touring the Pacific Northwest in November. Check faim.bandcamp.com or instagram.com/faimhc for more details.
