New Noise are stoked to present our latest flexi track, Lydia Loveless’ haunting, gorgeous piano rendition of “Head.” The song will be available in our next issue, #54.

“I started playing ‘Head’ on piano when I went on tour with the Mountain Goats, and John Darnielle mentioned that he liked that song,” Loveless says. “Since I was solo on that tour and it’s more musically complex than some of my other songs, I decided to give it the piano treatment. It adds a somber quality I think the song needs to balance the lyrics. I’ve been playing piano my whole life and don’t feel like I’ve mastered it at all, so it lends a little more creativity to my whole process.”
