We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Forever Starts Today’s new music video for their song “Optimist” (watch it below). The band have recently signed to Third String Records, who will be releasing the band’s forthcoming album Always Hope on August 25th. You can pre-order the album through iTunes.
On the signing, label founder Mike Ziemer commented: “I first discovered Forever Starts Today at SXSW in 2017. I was hooked the second I saw Christina (vocalist) standing on the bar and walking around as she sang every word flawlessly. It was their high energy performance, drive, and great songwriting that drew me in. Fast forward a few months later and I offered them a deal with my label, Third String Records. Their album Always Hope is incredible and I can’t wait for people to hear it!”
The band followed up saying: “Signing with Third String Records is such an incredible honor and amazing opportunity. Beyond opportunities to play events like So What?! Fest, Third String is well integrated all over the country, and we cannot wait to make the most of our opportunities to meet and interact with friends and fans from all over. We look forward to seeing what Mike, Blake, and the rest of the Third String team have in store for us!”
“‘Optimist’ describes the frustration that comes with trying to continuously help someone who won’t help themselves. It was written as a cry to someone I once cared about that I couldn’t understand how they weren’t realizing things needed to change or they were going to lose everything they ever cared about. ‘Optimist’ was written out of my realization that if someone won’t make an effort to drag themselves out of the pit, they can actually end up trapping you with them. If this is the case, you need to cut ties; no matter how hard it may be. ‘Optimist’ was about how I was rooting for an addict to change their ways, but in the end I had to let them go because they never changed.” – Forever Starts Today
