Show Review: Angels and Airwaves, Bad Suns and 1990nowhere at the Warfield in San Francisco, CA

Angels and Airwaves just released Lifeforms, their first album since 2014 and have hit the road to play it for you. The second stop of the run found the band at San Francisco’s historic Warfield with Bad Suns and 1990nowhere.

The hardcore fans arrived early to secure their spot on the rail but otherwise the San Francisco crowd seemed to gather slowly to ’80’s pop music being blasted throughout the theater. 1990nowhere received a positive response for the brief set (which was only their second show ever) and Bad Suns clearly has a strong local following that got the crowd moving.

AVA hit the stage at 9:40 and wasted no time diving into the new material with “Kiss & Tell” followed by “Timebomb” and “Euphoria.”  To say the crowd was stoked would be an understatement … while not sold out, the general admission floor was packed and people were generally losing their shit even before the band pulled into more familiar territory with “Surrender,”  “The Adventure,” and “Everything’s Magic.”  While only the second stop on this tour, the band sounded polished and clearly stoked to be back on the road after a long break.
