Touring in promotion of their new acoustic album punk act Bayside came together along with opener Kaleigh Goldsworth to spend a night at The Glasshouse in Pomona, CA on their US Acoustic Tour.
Opening for Bayside is a solo act, Kaleigh Goldsworthy. Goldsworthy’s set spanned from her singing songs by herself with just an acoustic guitar, to a full band including rhythm guitar and drums backing her. Countering her serious stage presence, in between songs, Kaleigh cracked lighthearted jokes about her music, the politeness of the crowd, and growing up and moving out of California keeping the audience engaged and filling the whole room with laughter and smiles for topics that could be very relatable.
After a short break, Bayside take the stage. This set may have been unfamiliar to a vast majority to their fans due to it being an acoustic set but didn’t stop the audience from enjoying it just as equally. Although the band stripped from their electric guitars and energetic antics they felt just as significant due to the inclusion of drums, tambourines and other percussion instruments, along with previous act, Kaleigh Goldsworthy joining the band on violin and keyboard throughout the set giving the band a more of a folk vibe than the fast, loud energy they’re known for.
Playing both new songs from their recent acoustic album and classics such as they “They Liked Strong Hands” and “Don’t Call Me Peanut” had the audience singing along, dancing, and having fun. Between songs frontman, Anthony Raneri and Jack O’Shea shared stories of their lives, gave background about songs, and amused the crowd with witty and playful jokes making the room feel small and intimate.
Bayside’s acoustic tour is a great night out for both fans new and old playing both familiar songs off their regular setlist to new songs only played in an acoustic setting, and the introduction of Kaleigh Goldsworthy is an excellent addition to this tour. The tour continues throughout the rest of the United States until February 2nd and if it’s in your area I would recommend for both new and old fans!
