We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Glass Lungs’ music video for their song “Eyes of the Abyss (Chapter 1)” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s latest album Impermanence. The video was directed and produced by Tom Flynn.
Glass Lungs vocalist Chad Henson commented:
We shot the video for Eyes of the Abyss at VuDu studios during the first couple weeks of recording our debut album Impermanence. It was actually the first video we shot with director Tom Flynn, who we’ve worked with on a few other projects since. We wanted to do something simple and straightforward, and considering the extremely personal nature of the song, I think that direction was the right way to go. This is Glass Lungs laid bare. No frills, no special effects. Just us.
The song itself is the first act of a sort of two part ‘story,’ so to speak. It was written at an extremely dark point in my life and deals with fighting against grief and depression, feeling overwhelmed and not wanting to be ultimately consumed by those emotions. I feel that these are universally relatable themes and I’m extremely satisfied with how both the song and video turned out.
