Since their formation in 2014, Lansing, Michigan’s Grey Matter have been turning heads in their local scene. Between explosive bursts of crunched guitars, raspy screams, and dramatic keyboard sounds, Grey Matter have established themselves as Michigan’s premiere “ska-core” band. With Visitors, Grey Matter show off the development of this calculated blend of hardcore, punk, and ska, while making a statement about the very scene they grew up in. According to vocalist and guitarist Mack Doyle:
“Visitors explores themes of loneliness, justice, and equality in the DIY community. The EP features guests from across Michigan coming together from different genres and communities to complete the sonically diverse project.”
The band celebrate the release next weekend in Lansing, Michigan alongside a star-studded cast of local bands including Backpacks, Rick Johnson Rock & Roll Machine, Convenient, Trash., and Solitary Subversion.
