Harvey Pekar Joins Little Heart Records

Cleveland hardcore act Harvey Pekar have announced they will be joining forces with Louisville indie Little Heart Records. Harvey Pekar is a perfect blend of punk, hardcore, rock, and intelligent lyrics with a just enough cynicism to perfectly embody their moniker. Having previously released their debut LP Upward, Not Northward on Escapist Records, Harvey Pekar recently finished tracking their sophmore LP which will see a summer release via Little Heart Records.

Puckett of Little Heart on the Harvey Pekar joining roster:

“This is one of those signings that has sort of been a long time coming. We’ve loved these guys ever since last-minute throwing them on a show a few years back when they had a Lexington show fall through and were just down to play for some food. Knew we wanted to do a record with them the second we heard them play.”

Harvey Pekar on joining Little Heart roster:

“We met Bryan from Little Heart Records a few years back, when he helped us fill a tour date that had been canceled only hours prior. It was that willingness to help a group of total strangers that made it an easy decision to work with him.”

Harvey Pekar on their forthcoming record:

“We’re thrilled that Little Heart will be releasing the full-length we’ve been working on for the past year. While we are forever hesitant to describe the music we make in terms that might seem at all grandiose, we’re really excited for people to hear the new record. In many ways it’s still a collection of the riffy hardcore tunes and cerebral lyrics we’ve written in the past, but it’s also the most cohesive and conceptual record that we’ve ever written.”

More information about this release and Harvey Pekar summer tour dates to come soon.
