It’s been five years since Forrest Kline, mastermind behind the eternally shapeshifting indie-pop band Hellogoodbye, released any new music. It takes time to dive as deep as the new album S’Only Natural does; here, Forrest encourages a life lived loudly over the course of 12 undeniable anthems of individuality. There are just as many ballads as there are all-out dance parties, but they’ve all got this one message in common–– be yourself unapologetically and love with everything you’ve got.
Starting today, a new song from S’Only Natural will be released each week leading up to the albums October 5th release date. Vinyl and merch pre-orders are available now: sonlynatural.com
If there’s one song that defines what Hellogoodbye’s new album S’Only Natural is all about, look no further than its title track and accompanying video. Directed by fashion photographer Andrew Lee, the colorful video is the songs perfect match, an ode to celebrating life outside of others expectations.
Forrest’s description of the song:
A love letter to downtown at dusk and the potency of diversity it offers. When the sun sets on a busy city block, deep dim lights give way to big bright personalities. You need not hide in the city at night. You can be free in the city at night.
