From Indian Lakes Debut Music Video For “The Monster”

From Indian Lakes are on the verge of releasing a new record. Everything Feels Better Now will be released on October 14th via Triple Crown Records. Before that, From Indian Lakes have released a music video for the song entitled “The Monster.” The song continues the band’s use of atmospheric indie rock to encapsulate dynamics with emotional frenzies sprinkled into the lyrics. For the music video, From Indian Lakes teamed up with Joshua Haulling to create a murderous, dark video for the track.

According to director Joshua Haulling, “The video is about that little monster that could easily grow in every one of us; slowly overcoming you without you even knowing. It’s a lifetime of wrong decisions and blaming everybody close to you but yourself — ‘killing’ relationships along the way.”

Vannucchi recorded the skeletons of the tracks for Everything Feels Better Now in the basement of a coffee shop that he rented each month for cheap. Further on, with the help of his housemate, he built sound panels and scraped together gear to make a workable home studio.  Over the course of 3 months he wrote and recorded around 20 songs before whittling the final number for the album down to 12. From there he traveled to Fairfax Recordings in Los Angeles, aka Sound City Studios, where he worked with producer Kevin Augunas (Delta Spirit, Cold War Kids) and engineer Gavin Paddock on slowly stripping away whatever tracks needed to be replaced from the basement and home studio recordings on the songs.
