Up and coming metalcore outfit Foreign Hands is taking 2022 by storm after releasing their anticipated EP “Bleed the Dream,” out now via DAZE. A five song epic, gripping from first light to its last breath, the release proves Delaware’s newest gem came to stay.
Although the group have put out EPs in the past, “Bleed the Dream,” recorded with Andy Nelson at Bricktop Studios (Wristmeetrazor, Weekend Nachos) is on a whole nother level, the biggest difference being its a fully realized EP. The essence of the band has been around for a long time and has gone through various interactions and members before 2018 rolled around and they finally started to find their sound. After having sporadic releases throughout their career, they can now say they have a cohesive record, thanks to collaboration from DAZE and Isaac Hale from Knocked Loose.
When we finished recording the EP, we were trying to find a bigger label to put it out, see if anybody was interested,” mentions guitarist / vocalist Jack Beatson. “Ultimately, our friend (DAZE) wanted to put it out and if you look at the other releases he’s done, [he] has had an insane response. He did the same with us too; he put a lot of thought and care into it and really was just as excited about it coming out as we were. It’s just been super awesome to have him share that mindset.
If one of us had an idea, he (Hale) took the reins a little bit and he [would say], let’s just try it, let’s give it a shot and see what happens,’” shares drummer Tyler Washington. “We worked so much quicker that way because we were consistently throwing ideas and putting things down on the demo tracks. [If] it was not something we all liked, he would just take it back out and we’d try the next thing and it just kept the ball rolling. I really liked that about him.
The release has reached a lot more people than they were expecting, the band admitted, people outside of the niche group of friends and fans they have had along the way. On top of more listeners, they are receiving more exposure, landing spots on popular playlists and Sirius XM; all markets they never had much access to before. The band is currently on a mini tour in the Northeast USA w/ Silenus. Keep your eyes on Foreign Hands because “Bleed the Dream” is just the beginning.
