You know what they say… twice is always nice. Northern Ireland’s pop punkers Loss of Signal have put their own twist on the line and slapped some new, fresh off the presses sound. The group have been in their current lineup since 2019 and with the rebirth came the decisions on the new era of the band. They decided to redo all the drum tracks completely and rerecorded some of the songs from their 2019 EP Could Do Better.
[When you find something that] clicks and it sounds good, you want to keep listening to it over and over again,” shares vocalist / guitarist Dario Cafolla. “When it finally does click, [after five tracks] and you’re just thinking, that’s it. I’m quitting. I can’t break music… I think if one really works, it is a bit of a relief.
“We don’t force it,” adds bassist Vincent Kettle. “If you’ve got an idea and just nothing’s working around it, put it on the back burner, get rid of it. Whatever it is, Dario says [he] never really gets rid of it; It just goes to the side, but we never try and force a song to work because then you don’t end up satisfied with something that you’re not happy with.”
Things may have been up in the air recently due to everything going on in the world today but Loss of Signal have adapted and rebranded, allowing themselves to grow into who they were meant to be. You can check out their album Audible Trauma now and look for new stuff on the horizon this year.
