Even though the global pandemic basically shut everyone inside and said “deal with it,” art is blossoming bigger and better than ever. All this added time has allowed creatives to do what they do best, create, and right in the middle of the equation is NYC based punks, Shakeout. Now, fresh into 2022, the band is dropping a brand new single, See Ya Never.
The isolation forced everyone’s hands, even if they didn’t know they had any and bred an atmosphere of doing what you love and making more of a habit out of it. A.J. Chiarella, the mastermind behind Shakeout, used the time to get some perspective and become wiser about the world we all live in.
I think that the biggest thing I got out of my own reflection and time is just gaining more self awareness and just trying to figure out who exactly I am and recognizing that’s a tool that anyone can do. If everyone could master self awareness, then [we would] be in a way better place because everyone would just recognize who they are and where they sit in the world. The song is that level of trying to gain your own self awareness and then recognizing some level of accountability towards everything in your life and less about pointing fingers and more about pointing thumbs when it comes to the things that happened in your life.
Along with the new single, Shakeout will be embarking on a 10 day East Coast tour w/ For Lack of a Term.
