What are the top 5 bands are you looking forward to seeing this year?
Unfortunately, we are only gonna be in town for one day of Fest this year because of the tour we are on. That said, go see Knapsack. And ALL.
Best Fest performances you’ve seen in the past?
Off the top of my head, Propaghandi and Masked Intruder were top sets Fest 11. Menzingers’ set from Fest 10 was pretty fun. The two previous years are a bit of a blur at this point.
You’ve played there in the past, any good stories from previous years?
Fest 9 we stayed in a bed and breakfast for some reason in Gainesville instead of a standard hotel. One night after many, many beers and shows, I couldn’t find my way back to the place. My phone was dead. I called the guys from a pay phone, and got directions. I walked around a six block area, totally lost at least four times, each time ending back up at the same pay phone to call again. It was like I was in a combination of the movie Groundhog Day and Friday the 13th. Finally the dudes came and picked me up. Turns out, they were giving me the wrong address the whole time. I hate them.
Any suggestions for first time attendees?
Take it easy the first night. There are many more nights ahead (especially now that Fest is four fucking nights).
Any war stories about trying to get to Fest?
Not really. Somehow we manage the chaos that is touring in a band pretty well it turns out.
