Fans have a bit to wait to hear the record, but we can tell you that from up-tempo tracks like the album’s explosive opener, “Dumbstruck Dumbfuck,” to the poetic and reflective “They Might Not Mean To (But They Do),” the release has all the earmarks of Neck Deep’s early records. “It’s fast; it’s pacey,” says frontman Ben Barlow. “There’s a little aggression just lingering.”

Following in the footsteps of genre heavy-hitters like Blink 182 may not break new ground, but it has allowed Neck Deep to carve out a space for themselves in the scene. Over the course of the last decade, they’ve uncovered a sound that is undeniably their own.

“When (pop-punk is) done well, it’s fucking awesome,” Barlow says. “And it’s some of the best music—some of the most emotive and just memorable, catchy fucking music.”

If anyone knows the formula for a perfect pop punk record, it’s Neck Deep.
