News: Jivebomb Release ‘Primitive Desires’ EP

Hardcore punks Jivebomb have released their new EP, Primitive Desires, via Flatspot Records.

Clocking it at less than five minutes, the EP is a brazen effort that gives the listener just enough time to take a breath before wanting to hit the repeat button. Reminiscent of bands like Negative Approach and The Rival Mob, ferocious vocals overlay groove-laden guitars and bouncy mosh parts.

Latest single “Illusion Of Choice” is the perfect sampler. With a runtime of 48 seconds, the track perpetuates the band’s blend of hardcore and fast punk with a sing-along chorus and guitar work that packs just enough oomph for a quick circle pit.

Speaking on the track, vocalist Kat says:

“It’s just chaos and words that are meant to evoke some sort of feeling or reaction. All in the name of thinking we’ve ever had an original thought or stance. There’s no true normal/right decision-making when the circumstances were not normal or right to begin with.”

Primitive Desires was recorded with producer Matt Redenbo at J. Robbins’ Magpie Cage studio and mixed and mastered by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Regulate, Soul Blind).

Formed in 2021, Jivebomb has already been able to share the stage with some heavy-hitters, from old-school bands like Slapshot to other upcoming acts like Restraining Order, and will hit the road for a string of dates with labelmates Scowl this fall. Keeping things short, fast, and catchy, it’s only a matter of time before Jivebomb stakes their claim as an essential hardcore band.
