Julia Jacklin Premieres New Single “Hay Plain”

Singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin has premiered the song “Hay Plain” today. The track is off of the debut record, Don’t Let The Kids Win, releasing October 7th via Polyvinyl. The song moves slow at first, but builds gradually into a crushing rock anthem. It’s much like a dance recital, starting slow but becoming more varied and wild in performance, with Jacklin’s vocals lifting the song to new heights often during the tune. A video diary of tour life has been released along with the music.

Jacklin is currently touring extensively throughout Europe and North America including a string of dates in October supporting Marlon Williams and Whitney (full list of dates below).

For the past serval years Julia Jacklin has lived in a garage in Glebe (a suburb of Sydney), working a day job on a factory production line making essential oils, all the while finding time to hone her craft – to examine her turns of phrase, to observe the stretching of her friendship circles, to wonder who she was and who she might become. And now, as Jacklin quits her factory job to focus solely on a music career, the future she had once imagined is becoming her present day reality. “It feels really good to be getting closer to my first album release,” says Jacklin, “it has been a very long dream of mine.”
