Lady Bones recently announced their upcoming EP, Terse, will be released April 29th via Midnight Werewolf Records (pre-order). One of Boston’s best up-and-coming bands, Lady Bones released their full length debut, Dying, less than a year ago and on Terse, the trio have proven yet again they’re only getting better. Now the trio are sharing “Ice Cream” (listen below). Built on singer/guitarist Sean Gilston’s wavering raw vocals, the song opens with slightly muffled vocals and finger-picked melodies before bursting into minimal intensity. The aggression of the band’s guitar attack eventually explodes with an absolutely ripping guitar solo and massive rhythmic attack. “Ice Cream” just isn’t as sweet as the title would have you believe.

Sharing their thoughts on Lady Bones’ “Ice Cream,” Consequence of Sound offered “Its arrangements pile on muddy grunge, dizzying noise-rock, and even Built to Spill-like indie flavors, while the lyrics hint that a bitter aftertaste lurks behind the saccharine title.”
