Adding to their growing collaborative ventures of highlighting the intersection of punk culture and literature are two stalwarts of the modern Los Angeles literary community, Punk Hostage Press and Library Girl, as the latter announces Punk Hostage Press Confidential, a commemoration of 14 years if independent publishing coupled with the launch of Nicca Ray’s new book Love & Cigarettes: A Hollywood Mother-Daughter Story, set for June 14th at The Ruskin Group Theatre.
The lineup of guest readings for the evening is locally rooted and namesake contributors to the lore of the Californian underground, with readings by Jack Grisham (TSOL), Annette Zilinskas (The Bangles, Blood on the Saddle), Allan MacDonnell, A Razor (Punk Hostage Press co-founder), Nicca Ray, Patrick O’ Neil, William Hayes, and more, with music by country artist KOOPS. Curation of the evening is courtesy of the efforts of Susan Haydon (author, founder of Library Girl) and Iris Berry (author, poet, co-founder/publisher of Punk Hostage Press).
