Progressive pop-punk LGBT icons Manic Pixi are at it again as they treat the world to their new heavy-hitting single, “Iron Heart,” which is also the title track of their upcoming sophomore full-length. This release presents a new sound and songwriting style to which vocalist and songwriter Kat Hamilton explains, “We are so excited to show a new side of ourselves to our fans. We see ‘Iron Heart’ as a natural progression of our ideas.”
“Iron Heart” has moments that hearken back to the poppy, grunge sound of the last record, Sugar Bomb!, but is executed with the maturity of a band who has been through a myriad of ups and downs. The song is the perfect anthem for screaming your lungs out with your fist in the air. Hamilton adds, “The hook, ‘stay out of my iron heart!’ is for anyone who ever felt fed up with the way they were being treated. It’s about growing thicker skin as you get older.” Iron Heart is a perfect music library supplement for fans of Four Year Strong, Motion City Soundtrack, and Paramore.
The Brooklyn quartet is supporting their new music with a tour to and from South by Southwest, including stops in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Florida, and a few yet to be added at later dates.
