Tanner Merritt’s voice is second nature to the ears of the atmosphere. The vocalist is featured on the song that The Jon Hill Project is premiering a music video for today. “Flat Line” finds Jon Hill caught in his demonic addictions, trying to find quick fixes to despair. It ends in a breath of tragedy, with the vocals carrying an emotional weight that adds to the visual journey.
“Flat Line” comes off of the record Rebirth, the ambitious and extremely detailed record from The Jon Hill Project that became the focus after Jon Hill’s divorce with Jaclyn Hill. Rebirth dives into different pitfalls of struggle, aspiring to and fulfilling its creative output in one giant musical orchestration. With plenty of different tempos, progressions and tone shifts, Rebirth is a magical piece of art. “Flat Line” is a guiding wing in that hurricane of life.
The Jon Hill Project comes from the mind of percussionist and songwriter Jon Hill. In 2016, Jon joined forces with Spencer Bradham, in-demand producer & lead songwriter, as well as Spencer Gill, songwriter & guitarist from Tides of Man, to develop the album Rebirth, which touches upon his struggle with addiction, the end of his nine-year marriage to make-up artist, Jaclyn Hill, and his hope for a new chance at life.
