New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the exclusive music video premiere of “Maybe Tomorrow” by Phonseca. The music video features magnificent landscapes of raw beauty over grandiose soundscapes. It’s a perfect meshing of the sound and visual. The song is the closing track of the recent debut, Between A Dream, which was released earlier this February. Take a listen and see an organism thrive in the video, the great Earth.
“Because of the album’s overall nature I felt it had to have an optimistic, big, closing track so ‘Maybe Tomorrow’ was the obvious choice. It has a lot of my favourite musical elements too like the relentless bell motif. I particularly remember spending a lot of time getting the strings to sit right in the mix and Stu Matthews did a great job again with the engineering tweaks when we added Robins lead bass part. I wanted a video that wasn’t too obvious for the genre but still represented the music too. Chris Lucas did a fantastic job and I really love it.” – Phonseca
‘Between a Dream’ is the self-released debut album by Phonseca, electronica solo project of Bristol-based artist Matthew O’Connor.
After playing synths in bands around Bristol’s eclectic music scene, with styles as diverse as Rock, Britpop, Shoegaze, Psyche and House, Matthew followed a more minimal Ambient/Electronica direction.
