New Noise Magazine is pleased to be bringing forth the exclusive premiere of “user error” by sewingneedle. The track is the namesake of their previous release, which was released in May. The song’s melodies are woven into the trudging pace, building with dense orchestras to create an apathetic emotion to the mundane. “Do you ever feeling like you’re whac-a-moling symptoms? Like you’re plugging small leaks in a dam with your fingers when another leak springs just out of reach? This video for ‘user error’ conveys that feeling, the nagging of mortality. Like a specter, dread follows us around during our most banal – and most joyful – moments. So, how do we keep these scary feelings at bay? Ice cream – we eat a lot of ice cream. For as much ice cream as sewingneedle’s three members eat, their music is none too sweet. Bristling with feedback and dissonance, the mid-tempo post-hardcore on sewingneedle’s newly-released user error LP grinds and sputters like a lawnmower’s first use in spring. Recorded at Electrical Audio with Greg Norman (Russian Circles, GY!BE) and released in May 2018, user error LP offers refuge to fans nostalgic for 90s-era Touch & Go and Jade Tree: from drummer Drake Jensen’s pummeling backbeats, to guitarist/vocalist Calvin Fredrickson’s slow-burning vocals and crunchy guitar work, to bassist/vocalist Danny Cohen’s dextrous playing and vocal anti-harmonizing. The band is touring the eastern half of the states this August and September.
